Meet Dotty & Daisy

My career in optical care began in 1993, and I became the owner and manager of Northwest Optical in 2004. As a nationally certified and Washington State Licensed Dispensing Optician, one of the highlights of my career was receiving the Lloyd Sass Memorial “Outstanding Optician of the Year” award from the Opticians Association of Washington in 2015.

Community involvement has also been an important part of my life outside of Northwest Optical. Currently serving as Secretary for the Tacoma Downtown Lions Club and Treasurer for the Executive Women International Western Washington Chapter, much of my volunteer time is connected to these two organizations.

That involvement includes supporting the Emergency Food Network, helping with the landscaping and upkeep of an adopted Washington park, providing eyeglasses to people referred to me through the Lions Club, and volunteering at the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center. There always seems to be another project, event, or administrative task that needs attention, but staying involved and helping where I can is something I genuinely enjoy.
